2015-08-06

Metal Herald news, United States aluminum billet premium remains stable, although the inquiry has decreased, but everyone is still most concerned about the supply problem, is expected to remain at the current level in the foreseeable future, most people still expect this year's downstream market demand is good. Some producers said that if the premium is less than 12 cents/lb, they will not consider the transaction. Extrusion and billet industry manufacturers expressed similar optimism at the annual meeting of the Aluminum Extruder Association held in Arizona, United States in mid-March, most participants believe that the construction industry will grow this year, and since this year we have seen the demand from trucks and trailers, cars and distribution industries, and SAPA Group expects the demand of the North American extrusion industry to increase by 5%~8% this year. Due to supply concerns, the billet market began to increase since the beginning of the year, and there are concerns about insufficient supply, with an estimated 425,000 tonnes of European billet supply affected, including Zalco, which filed for bankruptcy in December 2011 in the Netherlands, and ALCOA also announced a reduction in production.
